Hello Everyone,

I have noticed a lot of angry posts around here the last few days. I have noticed a few other things as well such as:

1. The angry posts are often by the same few posters

2. The angry posts often lead to mean and angry posts and so on and so on...

3. The angry posts are often sparked by posts in which rather controversial "blanket statements" are made.

5. Threads are once again (although not too many yet) being locked.

Now I have a few suggestion that might help diffuse some of these situations:

1. Don't state opinions as facts.

2. Use phrases like "in my opinion" or "I think" or "in my experience" when stating opinions.

3. Don't submit posts attacking someone elses character, calling their intellect into question or posts that are just plain mean spirited.

4. If someone does post something that violates suggestion #3, IGNORE them.

5. If you can't ignore them then respond in a PM.

6. Even if you feel passionately about something, don't get sucked into arguements that have turned nasty. Start a new thread.

7. Above all, be nice and treat others hear at LBT the way you would want to be treated (unless you are, in fact, mean, then just be nice).

Please feel free to add you own suggestions to the above lists.

My suggestion would be that we quit posting about all the posts. Things never go away if you keep them going.

This seems like a bit of an oxymoron I suppose, but I agree.

Wheetsin - A point well made and well taken.

I guess that's why they made you a moderator.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
