Strange Eating Day Was It To Much

Recommended Posts

I had a strange day yesterday... I took three different acid reducers cause I was having bad heartburn and doc told me a combo to try and bang it worked no heartburn but what replaced it was hunger(also the upset stomach feeling left) I ate a god awful amount yesterday slowly and over hours but I was allways hungry I don't get how I am four weeks out Monday and so far little if any problems eating just till now not hungry

Breakfast -1 egg 1/4 cup cheese omelet

shake 11oz 40g

lunch baked tilapia 2 ounces 1 ounce potatoes

Shake 11oz 40g

dinner 2 chicken tenders baked and 3 carrots

snack five flat bread crackers with laughing cow cheese

Is that to much I never felt pain or discomfort everything was nibbled on slowly.

I bet the hunger is tied to your acid. If you can get that acid under control, I'd be willing to bet that you'll feel less hunger.

Does the doc have your on a PPI? That's what I take and it works really well for me. I hope you can find the right medication, because it can be like a night-and-day difference. I don't think your food intake looks super excessive. Typical for someone on full regular foods - maybe at the high end of things for 4 weeks out, but still within the range of normal consumption I think.

Since you are only 4 weeks out, it is possible (but not super likely) that you can still have some numbness from the surgery and not really be able to feel how full you are.

Good luck! I hope you find a good solution to your acid!

You aren't listing your Water in there, but I hope you were drinking water in between your food. Your food doesn't actually look too bad. I have days where I'm "hungry" even now. I just try to make sure that whatever I eat is Protein heavy and it looks like you're doing well with that.

I am 4 weeks on Monday I got all my liquids in and even had another 35g shake before bed just to get max Protein in. I go by as much protein as I can so when I can't I might have a buffer

Yes I am on zantex twice daily pepicide and priolsec. Before that the heart burn was so bad I couldn't eat and felt nausea all the time day one heart burn free and I was hungry. In fact I find my self physical hungry every two hours but not head hungry it feels like a chore to eat even things I liked before don't taste as good.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
