Thank fully the only the person that can sabotage me is me...

However my gripe is the number 98.7 (kgs)...it is has been on my scale for the last 2 weeks...i really want to see another number, I am so bored of 98.7.

I so know the feeling...I was like that and I started reading and increased my caloric intake by 100 calories and boom broke the barrier for me!

My gripe is a day late but I only lost about 4lbs this last month. Seriously not happy about that. Also, my thighs keep moving even after I stop. Seriously, it's a cottage cheese fest.

As for the hubby, I sit and watch him eat and I feel like smacking the food out of his hands before he can eat it. I never noticed how fast he eats and how he doesn't seem to chew so much as just swallow his food whole. It's irritating me. So I guess this is my problem because he has always done it but now I am so aware of it!

I am really afraid for him and he doesn't get it! He is a former marine and body builder. His 6 pack has long since been replaced by a keg. He has always had high blood pressure even when he was in his best shape. I am terrified that if he keeps going down this road I will be raising two boys by myself. Trying to get him to understand that and make the changes is another story. I know he knows how to lose weight because I have seen him do it....

However, he has been VERY supportive of me and my journey and that's why I love him.

I have to say that I am very blessed to have such a supportive husband. He only praises me instead of bringing me down. He is also military. He is in the army and has a beautiful body and can eat anything he wants. My only beef with him is that he eats so damn loudly and I can't stand to hear him eating stuff I can't. Lolol some days I just want to take his food away. Other than that, he is the best husband in the world.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
