Recommended Posts

Looking to see if anyone else will be getting their surgery the same day as me? I just verified with dr. kelly's assistant for that day.......yay can't wait!!!!!! Also has anyone started dieting yet? I have started to force myself to drink alot more Water, and i'm trying to find out what everyone used at first for protein.. i don' t want to be losing my hair or tired all the time. What Vitamins are you on? Anyone try those Protein Shots that have 50g of Protein in them? Any info would be great!

I'm not going for a month after you, but I'm seeing Dr Kelly, and I have been dieting for over a week and have lost 4 pounds so far! Hoping to be down 20 pounds by surgery! I downloaded "my fitness pal" onto my phone, and it created a calorie amount to follow daily (also Protein, fats, carbs etc). I have not tried the Protein Shots you are talking about, but I've read that your body can't process more than about 25g at a time, so maybe just use half at a time. Wishing you an ready surgery and recovery :)

Congratulations kansasgirl! I am also dieting and also have my fitness pal (ladies please ad me if you would like LBeautyy notice 2ys). my dieting is not going to be too extensive, just watching what I eat and stoping when I am full, that has proven to be a real challange for me! My birthday is in april, exactly two weeks before my surgery, so that night I am planning on eating a lot of my favorite food (so much that I will probably get sick), I know this is unhealthy and should not be done, but I am doing it with enough time to allow my body to get back to normal before surgery. I am only supposed to do a 3 day liquid diet for my surgery but I am planning in doing two weeks because I believe it can help and it will definetly not hurt.

The only doctors I know of that do in-house financing is Dr. Rodriguez in Juarez and Dr. Garcia. Dr. Kelly does not do in house financing. My mom is finally ready to have her surgery. She did in house financing with Dr. Garcia. They are changing companies that provide the servicing and they said there is a delay in the paperwork but he still offers it. Just call back and ask for Julie. She is the person that does the finance work or is in that department.

Good luck on your surgery! Where there’s a will, there’s a way!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
