Nvs... Smaller Clothes

Recommended Posts

So I haven't seen the scale move in about three weeks. This can be somewhat discouraging considering I only have 11lbs to goal. However, my cloths are getting bigger and bigger. I'm in a 5-7 jean now and it is a little strange for me I have to say. I don't know that I want to get much smaller.

Is that weird? I'm at a normal healthy weight. I am exercising now and my muscles are toning up very nicely. I started this because I wanted to get healthy and I know I can still lose more but I don't want to start looking sick, drawn up, and old.

Here are some before and afters. Tell me what you think.

The last three are from today.... In the last one I was only trying to give you and idea of how thin I am under the shirt. Sorry about the tummy showing.

I think you look fantastic. This is a personal question but I am going to ask it anyway!! lol. I noticed that you have bigger boobs? Did you keep these boobs after your weight loss or did you have plastics done. I am very worried about my boobs because they are big and I don't want them to turn into tube socks lol. Sorry if that question is off limits.

No that's a great question!! Those are all me. They were very much bigger to begin with but I think what I lost and what I kept evened out very well. I was told that if you had them before you gained the weight you were looking to lose, you would probably keep most of what you had. That was the case for me.

That all being said... I have a great VS bra on and it helps keep the girls where they should be. I'm a little worried about the fall they have taken but my BF tells me they are still perfect. :)

I don't think that is odd at all. It's a very healthy thought to be able to go "I like me HERE". It can be difficult for us to begin to really be OK with our bodies.

Is that weird? I'm at a normal healthy weight. I am exercising now and my muscles are toning up very nicely. I started this because I wanted to get healthy and I know I can still lose more but I don't want to start looking sick, drawn up, and old.

You look fab!! Great job! Now try to ignore that scale, those numbers don't matter, it's all about how you feel :)

thanks Julie, It makes me feel so good about my decision when I see women that have done as well as you. There will be a VS near me soon so I can't wait to go in and try so "real" bras on not sport bras.

You are going to do great! Just remember why you made this decision and everything else will fall into place. I know as a woman we hate to loose the things (breast, in this case) that make us who we are but in the end, we have to do what is healthy for us. Even if you lose what you have, know there are always alternatives. :)

I was a 38 (overflowing) DD or E in some bra's. I am still a 34-36 D Depending on the bra. When I was 12 years old I was a D so I didn't expect to lose too much. Was kinda hoping to lose some though. Just think back to when you were a teenager and that's probably where you will end up. Now that's not saying they won't be pointing in some other direction.LOL!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
