Rant: Nothing In My Closet Fits!

Recommended Posts

I found some reasonably priced bras at Ross that I really like and bought 6 of them :) All of my clothes pretty much come from salvation army or goodwill. I don't mind paying a couple bucks for something I'm going to wear for part of a season if I'm lucky..........

I'm all about the comfy clothes too. The nice thing about living is Albuquerque, New Mexico... It's a pretty big city, but around here- "dressing up" means wearing your "good" jeans. ;) Yep, I'll be hitting up the thrift stores too. I hope you found something to wear. Borrow clothes from your skinny friends ;).

My church runs a thrift store, so as I realize that something is too big, after I wear it, I wash it, and pop it into a donation sack. I ordered some summer things in my new size rom Ebay, and will pop those into the sack in the fall.

Just wait, a year from now you'll be able to grab something you haven't worn for 2 months and know it's still going to fit.....something that at least for me, never happened before WLS - I was always yo-yoing between 3 or 4 sizes.

ISN'T IT THE BEST FEELING EVER????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was the same way. Had various sizes in my closet because I could easily gain weight back in a flash, then gain and gain, lose, lose, gain, gain UGH!

I've been in maintenance for 10 months now and the same size and I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was searching through my closet for over an hour before realizing I have nothing to wear! I know this might not seem like a big deal, but I literally fell to the floor crying. I don't dress up often, literally I spend almost every waking second in jeans and t-shirt or my pajamas. It doesn't really matter what I wear when I am in class, doing research or at home studying. But the one day... one day! I want to dress up I don't have ANYTHING in my closet that is appropriate for the club. Not even my bras....

I can't believe I am complaining about everything being too big.

*sighs* I am sorry for ranting, but I really just needed to vent. Weight loss is awesome, but damnit I want some clothes that fit!

That's the ONE THING that I really wasn't prepared for...new clothes/under garments every few months.

This is why every wls woman needs a black, knit, wrap dress. As you get smaller, you just tie it tighter.

Wrap dresses are awesome!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
