Taken for granted.

Recommended Posts

I think this post was supposed to be about what we take for granted...not what we are thankful for...however its nice to know what every one is thankful for as well.

I always say you can't own a thread, you merely birth it and set it free :huggie:

Be thankful, take for granted, it's all good.

If this thread gets someone to take a moment and give a round of appreciate for something they feel deserving, have at it.

I could have taken it for granted, but I didn't...

Back when hubby and I were DINKS (Dual Income No Kids) I was on my way home from work and pulled into the grocery store, we needed the pantry stocked! So I got my buggy, shopped, no time limit, no hurry, got what I needed, checked out, loaded up, and halfway home, I realized that NEVER ONCE did it occur to me how much it was going to cost and whether or not we could afford it. I mean, it didn't even cross my mind, not even as I was paying! I just went in, and shopped and bought.

Wow. That could never happen now! LOL And what I didn't KNOW to appreciate back then was the "no hurry" factor. I am simply BLISSFUL when I have all the time in the world at the store with NO kids!

I knew back then to be grateful. Now, I'm just jealous of myself! hehe

yes yes i know we can't own a thread, i'm just being bitchy :guess please forgive me......i'm an organizational freak and i hate it when things get disorganized.....

now, for more disorganization.....

the best me - I do exactly that now. I go to the grocery store and throw in whatever I want and usually don't give a second thought to what i'm buying. You mean all that will stop when I have kids?? :huggie: Maybe I don't wanna have kids then.....:guess

It stops when you have kids, quit your job and move to one income. Now the budget is tight. And shopping is hectic. It takes time to train the kiddos how to behave in a grocery store. "No whining, no fussing, no begging, be a helper to Mommy, keep your hands to yourself and be a sweet brother/sister..." yada yada. WHEW! Enjoy your quiet! LOL

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
