Hey Sandra! I'm fluctuating! 2-3 lbs. I just completed a bootcamp class down 10lbs. My NUT increased my low carb veggie intake because my fingers started looking like chicken tenders!! Lol so I've been eating collard greens and cabbage. Oh my I can't wait to cross over! Hang in there Chicka, we're almost there!!!

what i wouldnt do for some greens!!!!!!!!!! roscoes chicken and waffles have some bomb greens...n mmm waffles n they mac n cheese. ahhh!!! lol

im worried cuz when i weighed in for first surg appt i was 293 since january..i ate whatever i wanted till i found out i was officially approved by then i gained 16lbs. so i was at 309. im at 303-305 now. but it wont budge and go down! im worried i wont get back to atleast the weight i was when i had my initial consultation. so im cutting it close with my surgery scheduled for 15 days.

Those same thoughts come to my head but I think it has more to do with your liver reducing than weight loss. Have you ask your NUT or Surgeon.

i called and asked and they said the surgeon prefers you try and drop 10lbs or anything just not gain. so even if its you dropped 1 or 2 he prefers that over gaining. and im scared to tell them i kind of gained so would i be ok cuz i dont want them to push it back

it is about the liver reducing in size, if its too big they will not do your surgery. I heard of people going into surgery and coming out either with a big scar because they did an open surgery or with their whole stomach because they could not do it laporascopically.

cant they kinda figure out if your so far so good when you have your pre op with the surgeon?

Here's what I think, I feel it's better to tell them what's going on and they can give you a straight answer then you go the day of the surgery, thinking you are going to have the surgery to then learn you can't have it

yes and know. They can measure the liver size but that only gives an extimate liver size. You should always be honest with your surgeon because your life depends on it (literally). Dieting before surgery is specially important if your BMI is over 40, because then your liver is already much larger. I would say do your best to follow the diet, but don't be too hard on yourself if you cheat sometimes. The cheating is specially important not to do right after surgery because of leak risks

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
