March Roll Call!

So I am having my surgery on March 15th with Dr. Kelly in Tijuana, MX. I would love to make friends with some fellow March 2012 sleevers to share the journey....

You know, I really was hoping for consistent restriction after so many years of random restriction, but I'm not complaining. I couldn't even drink water in the morning for like 6 years.

Did the egg/ham/cheese breakfast.

Lunch I ate out and ordered a brothy soup. I avoided all pieces and just stuck with the broth, and could barely finish 1/4 of the small bowl.

Snack was a cheese stick with a bit of minced meat salad. It took me 45 mins to finish.

Dinner - about 2 tbls of 7 layer dip w/ canned chicken, 2 hours ago and I'm still feeling it each time my stomach contracts.

Go figure. I've never liked breakfast much, ever. So of course it would be my primary meal now....

I'm not quite to 1/2C food, I don't think, but the egg combo is quite a bit more than I've managed before. 4oz seems to be my upper limit.

Wow you guys are doing great with your weight loss. I'm down 19 lbs since 3/12. Only 2 lbs in the last 4 weeks. Its very discouraging.

I think that 19lbs is great! That's 19lbs that you won't have to carry around again. But I'm wondering if maybe you are in an early stall. How fast did you lose the other 17lbs?

I lost 17 lbs the first 4 1/2 weeks. Then 2 lbs since then. Tomorrow I will be 2 months out.

I had to go to my doctor yesterday for some antibiotics, so I was weighed. The exact same weight that I was about 4 weeks ago when I went in for my last post-op.

Stalls suck. Stalling for more than half the time you've been sleeved suck even more!

Omg! I have been an extremely slow loser as well.. I was in a stall for about 3 wks, and then dropped 2 lbs in a wk and half. This is too slow, I am wondering when the weight loss will continue. Started at 262 now at 228 :/ I'm 9 wks out tomorrow.

3/12/12 ;)

Hi All March Sleevers!

I got sleeved on March 28th and I think I am doing well. I am down 44 lbs., 28 lbs. down since surgery. I have slowed down since the introduction of solid foods, but I am okay with that. My Nut wants me eating 6X a day. That has been tough. I think I am doing better with that, though. I notice that I get hungry every 2 hours or so. I try to get protein first. It has been wonderful to eat veggies again. I think I have a "Sleeve of Steel". I can pretty much eat anything. There hasn't been anything that has given me a hard time. I love my sleeve and that the 44 lbs. I have lost are 44 lbs. I will never have on my body again. I am very pleased.

Just wanted to say that I seem to be following the same course as lisalalani -- I too was sleeved on 3/27 and as of today I am currently at 228. Her post reads almost like I would have written it. I had not posted due to feeling successful when so many posts were stating that they had stalled.... Sorry for that. I am very please with the status and looking forward to particpating more.

Wished this website was more user friendly. Can't seem to find anything -- I wanted to put the eye chart on here to show my progress -- oh well - I'll keep trying to figure this out --- unless someone has advice.

I was sleeved on March 14th and have been doing really well. I started mushies at about 2 weeks and haven't looked back. Everything I am eating now is regular food. Went out last week to eat for the first time and got a steak. That steak fed me for 3 meals and boy did it taste good. Also had my best week of weight loss this week, so I think I will start eating steak more often!! My weakest point is getting exercise in, but I am working on it.

WooHoo! I am down 46 pounds! I am so Happy I got the surgery! I am feeling great and can eat anything with out a problem! :)

  • 2 weeks later...

I was stalled for about 5 weeks:( Finally this past week lost 5 pounds!!!! I really needed that!! I was sleeved march 8th at 203 lbs, now 166:)

I have now lost 51 lbs and was sleeved march 12. 41 of it is post op weight loss. I go into my doc soon for three month check up and im afraid he isnt going to be happy with me. I love what i have done and now fit into a size 14/16 woohoo! I need to start exercising more because i have really slacked off on that. I just Hope he thinks i am doing ok!

I was sleeved March 13 by the same surgeon as PixieJoy. Hi Joy! I've stalled twice and have lost a total of 41.6 lbs since pre-op and 29.6 since surgery. I wish it were more, but I'm okay with it.

Hi! I'm pretty similar. Sleeved the 12th and I'm down 56.4 pounds total- this includes preop diet. :) I too, am fitting in 14/16. I can't believe it. I've never been smaller than a 14, so I am looking forward to shopping eventually.

On another note- can anyone reccomend a good compression short or shirt? I'm not liking the jiggly jiggly when I exercise.

Have a great weekend!
