One Year Anniversary Coming Up Feb 16Th

Recommended Posts

I am happy with my decision to have surgery.. I found that I can tolerate non fat sugar free vanilla iced lattes from McDonalds. As well as Wendy's chili.. I found some unflavored Unjury Protein Powder and mix it into the iced latte.. gives me 20 grams of protein.. plus greek yogurt gives me another ten grams of protein.. I enjoy sugar free popsicles to keep my liquids up. All things considered I would do it again.

I have no regrets having my sleeve surgery, I would do it all over again, wish I would have had it sooner. I too like the non fat sugar free latte's from Mc Donalds but Star Bucks are even better with the Protein. I get ice from Sonic, it's little and just like the hospital ice. I made Mio ice pops to help with getting enough liquid after having to get iv liquids a week out. Since then no problems with enough liquid.

I use a lot of shredder cheese, cheese sticks (string cheese and sharp cheese) and Peanut Butter or almond butter for high Protein counts.

Egg flower Soup and Ramen noodle season packets are also great in the beginning they both have sodium in them to help keep the fluids up.

I am now able to go out for lunch and dinner with friends and these are a few of the things I enjoy Wendy's chili small, Jack in the Box grilled chicken strips, Taco bell bean cups, Mc. Donalds jr cheese burger no bun and KFC mashed potatoes and gravy (I think of these as treats)

I LOVE MY SLEEVE and would do it again in a heart beat.

I have no regrets! I do remember having a regret laying in the hospital bed the same day. It was a fleeing thought! I just pushed the morphine button and went to sleep. Hated it when they made me walk after pushing the button. LOL ;)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
