Hi August All-Stars! This week has been ok for me. I weighed in at 195.0 this morning for a loss of 2 pounds. I love my sleeve but it seems as though I'll never get to goal. The last few weeks this has become much harder. I feel like I can eat more than ever so I really have to watch myself and track all of my calories and fat. Is anyone else feeling this way recently? I'm getting tired of being "on a diet" too. Can't wait to get to goal. Is anyone close?

Let us know how y'all are doing!

I got the ok to EAT this week :))) Soft foods, but still! I am still getting some nutrition from the feeding tube so not losing really. So ready to lose again!! I am so scared I won't start losing when I go off the tube. No logical reason. My Protein Drinks are going down well - I am THRILLED since that wasn't the case in the beginning! I got a gym membership last week - one that is open 24 hours. I need to start going even if just to walk on the treadmill for 20 minutes.

I am about 15 lbs from goal, I initially hoped to reach it by my 6 month anniversary on Feb 25. But my weight loss has slowed to a crawl. Frustrating because I'm not doing anything different, still eating within 30 carbs and 90 grams of Protein daily.

The scary thing is that I'm finding I'm able to eat significantly more (if I let myself) and very rarely have the full feeling anymore.

I am 190 this week. A loss of 2lbs. Well, really only 1 lbs. I just also lost back the pound I had gained. I am having issues with carbs. I haven't done very well as of late. I am having carb and sugar issues. I find that I do not want Protein. I am having a hard time getting back on track. I read somewhere about Chia Seeds. They expand in Water and form a kind of gel. When you drink them they expand in your stomach making you feel more full. I have tried a tablespoon a day this week and they seem to be helping.

I am finally back down a little but still haven't gotten below my lowest weight. I had hit 184 last week and then was up and down a few lbs over the past week. I weighed in at 184.8 this morning. I have been walking 2-2.5 miles almost every day and have tried to cut back on what I am eating. I really have pretty much been at a standstill for the past few weeks. I'm hoping that will change this week. Trying not to get down about things and just press on!

I always forget this thread! I was down three pounds this week as of Saturday. I reached my minigoal of just being overweight and also passed up the 60 pound mark! I am now down to 172.5 as of this morning. I have discovered a pattern in my losses too. I generally go down 2 or 3 pounds over the weekend and stay the same or fluctuate all week. Sometimes I stay around the same for up to two weeks before I drop again. I just have to learn to be patient and drink more water! We are all doing great. We knew it would slow down about right now and I looks like it has for us. We still have plenty of time to loose the rest as we are supposed to lose for up to two years if we try! Come on girls, beat the carb monster and get those Proteins in!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
