I'm In The Hospital

I am asking for prayers tonight. I got very sick last night and developed a temp of 101. My surgeon told me to go to the ER to be evaluated. A ct scan and upper gi confirmed I have a small leak. Out of several thousands, I'm the 2nd one that this has ever happened to with my surgeon. Everyone here has always been very supportive and I appreciate any words of encouragement. I'm feeling quite down right now.

Thanks yall!

happy,,unfortunately I'm on tpn,,practically pure sugar..I've gained 9 pounds back worth of fluids. I can't aim for any weightloss till I'm off the tpn. Once I am, I will be back to square one with the clear liquid diet..and so forth.

Hang in there!! I am so glad you got to come home! Don't let the weight gain scare you too much - I have been promised by my Doctor it will come back off! Healing prayers coming your way!

You have just confirmed exactly what I was reading from the pages of a medical newsletter on gastric sleeve. If there is a leak you have a better chance on finding it 8 days out to 6 months. Anything earlier its harder to find a leak because the stomach is still n. i just discussed this with my PCP. He agreed to let me do a barium test 10-14 days out just to double check before I go back to work. I like my doc. Hes more excited than me that I am getting sleeved.

Good luck but just remember in the medical papers microleaks can occur up to 6 months

So glad to read that you were finally able to go home. So sorry you have had to go through all of this! Be encouraged. You sure seem like you are keeping a great attitude, but it must be difficult at some moments. Thinking of you and looking forward to your full recovery!

I'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal. A leak is definitely a big risk with this surgery and I'm sorry you were one of the few who developed one. I am happy that you are home and on the mend, and it sounds like they are not planning another surgery to fix it? I may have missed an update on that but it sounds like you are in wait-and-see mode. Please know our thoughts are with you and I hope your healing speeds up and you start to feel better soon! HUGS!

So so glad you are home! Ihope recovery goes well and leak is closed!!

PeaceQueen, I'm so sorry to hear about your leak. I wish you the best as you recover. You've got this!

I'm happy to hear you've finally been released! Best of luck on the 17th! I hope everything goes well for you. You're in my prayers!
