Nut Dr. Couldn't Have Cared Less...

Recommended Posts

You know I was thinking the same thing. food is comfort to me I eat when I am happy sad having fun. So I'm in my 6 mo stage and I'm working on my mental state and I am working with the nut and I think its good for me to see mental health... extra steps and extra money I don't have but I feel like I'm having a surgery on my stomach and not my brain so I have to work on the habits that are bad and look for new good ones to bring balance you know?

Well, i'm glad I'm not the only one. It's hard to convince my mind to do what I want! Lol!! Sometimes i think, "this will be easy! I'm going to eat [insert yummy food here] right now cuz I'm not going to be able to eat it later." Then i slap myself and think how stupid i was for eating it! It's soooo frustrating!!!!

Now I have the motivation and a tool(soon in the late spring) that will help me if I help it. Will I f up sometimes yes am I afraid hell yes, but I can't make fear a factor if the fear is killing me. I fight with my self each day to make better choices so I'm with you..

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
