Which was the hardest

Recommended Posts

Eating slowly is the hardest part for me, but only because I don't always have 30 minutes to an hour to eat! I take an hour long lunch break at work and I love it because that's the pace I feel comfortable eating. It's often difficult when you're on the run because you can't just grab something and scarf it down in the car anymore. So, it's not that eating slowly is hard to make myself do (it was at first, but I've gotten used to it), but that you have to really devote time to your meals.

The other thing that annoys me is that I always have leftovers, whether I cook or go out, so I eat the same thing four or five times a week. I'm single, no kids, so I can eat on a restaurant meal until I have to dump it because it's gone bad.

I have to concur with the popular opinion that not drinking while eating is the hardest thing. I tend to spice things up a bit and sometimes, you just need to cool off your mouth. My solution is ice chips. I take a chip of ice and let it melt in my mouth which cools it off without adding too much Water to my meal.

I have a hard time finishing my lunch during my hour-long lunch break. I finally switched to Protein shakes because I just can't eat that fast and still allow time for me to brush my teeth. I was sleeved August 9, and in October, I got braces. I teach, so I am very worried about keeping my teeth clean of food.

I gave up on the not drinking within a half hour before and after the meal. It wasn't one of my doctor's instructions, so I haven't followed it. When I'm actually eating, I only take a sip once in a while. For instance, today my chicken was very spicy and a sip was required. :)

I thought the not drinking would be hard for me, but for me it hasn't been that bad.

I always forget to slow down and chew.

The hardest for me has been slowing down. The not drinking when I eat was a little tough at first but not bad really. Now I dont even think about it. If I eat spicy food, I might take a small sip just because I have to for the heat...lol. I have noticed that I get faux hunger pains when i am stressed, emotional and just this week I noticed I was bored and snacking too much because of it. I was eating good Protein Snacks but I had to keep telling myself that I am not really hungry, Im bored so I would close the snack drawer and not eat anything. this process has really shed light on why I got so fat in the first place. Eating for all the wrong reasons.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
