December sleevers!

I've been seeing a lot of people who now have December surgery dates, just wanted to say HI, and give us a place to talk while we wait (and count down the days) for our surgeries.

My surgery is on December 9, 2011;

My doctor is Justin Braverman from the N.E.W. Program in Newport Beach, CA;

I start my pre-op liquid diet on November 25th;

And will be sleeved at Tri-city hospital in Hawaiian Gardens, CA.

What about everyone else?

I got my date! And its the date I want! 12/21. The caveat is that my surgeon is leaving for the holiday, so if there are complications, another doc who is on call would have to take care of me. Should I worry about that?

After 2 insurance denials, I was finally approved via an external appeal to an independent review organization. I just got my December 26th surgery date this week. I guess my surgeon is super busy because it was either Dec. 26 or wait until Jan. 23rd. I am so excited! It will be a liquid Christmas dinner for me this year, I say yum-yum, bring it on :cheers2: ! I will be sleeved at Buffalo General Hosp. Buffalo, NY by Dr. Aaron Hoffman.

Hello, everyone - I'm excited to find this thread so I can be part of the other December sleevers! I have all my insurance requirements met but do not have my surgery date yet, but they tell me it will for sure be by the end of December :hurray:

I am so excited that I got my date today and it's December 7th, Thank you Jesus. I will be having my surgery at United Hosptial in St. Paul MN and my surgeon is Peter Kelly. I started my pre op diet on Oct 25th, so I am truly ready for this day to come. I will say a special prayer for all who are having surgery in the month of December.

God blessing be upon you all!!!

My date is Dec. 5 at Orange Coast Memorial in Fountain Valley, CA with Dr. Atif Iqbal. Started my preop yesterday and just finished my second day....not too bad. I am drinking 4 Bariatric Advantage shakes a day. I am so excited!!

My surgery date is Dec 28 in VA with the Bluepoint Surgical Group...

Soooooo excited!!!!! Ready For a change!

Yahoo! It's official now! I got my approval letter from my insurance company today. It's all systems go for Dec 14 at the University of Minnesota with Dr Ikramuddin.

Woo hoo, there are lots of us. Excited and nervous!!

@ Deigh,

My nutritionist workshop was about how to eat before (pre -0p) and after. She also talked about vitamins and the importance of them as well as protein. She told us to think of protein as medication that we must have daily.

The Therapist talked about dealing with head hunger, body changes and people who are going to try to sabatoge the eating. He also talked about how to show love to others w/o using food.

My husband went with me and thought it was beneficial. In fact he is going to the next support group w/o me as they are doing multiple cooking demos and having a mini holiday food party. I will be on my preop diet at the time, even though I will be surrounded by people who have had or will have surgery, I am not sure I want to put myself in that sitation. Who knows, I may change my mind after I have been on the diet a few days.

Happy Thanksgiving to all the December ( Divas) Sleevers!

May you focus on your families and cherish the time spent with them.

To those who are pre--op dieting........good luck...keep your eyes on the prize. :wink_smile:

My sleeve is December 14th with Dr. Bhoyrul at Scripps Hospital in La Jolla, CA. Only 21 days! :Angel_anim:

I have my pre-op appointment on the 13th and get my December date then. I wish they would have given it to me at the last appointment but they have to wait until after I have the egd.

My surgery was moved up to Dec 2nd. My surgeon is Dr Colleen Kennedy and I will have it done at Presby Dallas. I start my pre-op diet friday, and boy have I been doing alot of nervous eating. I am getting really anxious even though im so excited for my new life change.

I hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving. I'm still hoping for a Dec date. I have to get cardiac clearance and an EGD before I can proceed.
