My Protein Shake Brings All The Boys To The Yard..lol!
http://www.amazon.com/Pure-Protein-Ready-Drink-Vanilla/dp/B002XULCB6 Pure Protein Shakes - These are my favorite...they arent thick at all like those icky shakes, and they have tons of protein. I dont know where you live, but I can get them at a local store (Trader Joes). The vanilla tastes like egg nogg, and the chocolate is wonderful. Such a refreshing change from the protein powder, yuck! I may never go back, lol. Good luck!

Need Encouragement
Ateam, your story sounds exactly like mine! I'm going into my fourth week post-op, and have lost 13 lbs since surgery, 20 total. I only weigh myself once a week, and didnt lose any weight last week. It is discouraging, and i fear somehow i will fail the sleeve, but the good news is...we cant! We will lose, whether it be fast or super slow, we'll get there! Its hard when you see others who have lost like 30 lbs in one month, but I try and think of the positives, like the slower we lose the more time our skin has to catch up, lol! Most people stall, we just gotta keep going, and we will lose again! I promise!

Seriously?
I had to push my scale under the kitchen table where i cant see it every day, and only weigh myself once a week. I too am stalling bigtime, but inches are coming off (i was able to fit into my jeans again, woo hoo!). So even if you're not losing pounds, you're probably losing inches!

Day 11 Post-op
http://www.amazon.com/Pure-Protein-Ready-Drink-Vanilla/dp/B002XULCB6 These are my favorite...35 grams of protein, 110 calories, and 1 gram of sugar. I was so sick of the protein powder and the thickness of it, these have been a lifesaver.

12 Days Post Op Stall? & 6 Days Post Op Entry
I've been hungry too, and on a stall, and my surgery was Dec 9th. Im right there with you on everything, lol. My left incision was the worst of the pain. I can take bigger sips of liquids now too, its normal. I have been on soft foods since the 23rd, and it has been the best. Im so sick of the shakes, but ive been getting all my protein in, need to be better about the liquid requirement though. Good luck, we'll get there, even if we go at a slow pace. Oh and i've pushed my scale under the dining room table so i dont see it when i walk by, and am only weighing myself once a week cuz i was driving myself crazy with it. I stopped weighing myself for 4 days and when i did i had lost 3 lbs! Much better feeling.

Just A Quick Gripe And Comment On My Holiday Eating
Yay, good for you! I too left cheesecake on my plate Chirstmas Eve (only mine was because I couldnt eat anymore being post-op). I wouldnt have had the self-control before the surgery, so congrats! Most of us know just how hard that is to do!

From: Giving It Time To Work...
Thanks for the reminder! I think we discourage ourselves when we see other people losing faster than us, but this is not a race! We will all lose at our own pace.

Hey There - Finally Sleeved On The 9th !
Nikkita you are not alone! I'm a bored-eater too, a grazer, and constant snacker. I had surgery on December 9th too (sleeve sisters!), and its been torture feeling like im never gonna be able to eat and feel satisfied again. I think the holidays make it worse, like at work today everyone brought in a ton of food, and its sitting all around the office. I'm trying to focus on working, and drinking my protein shake and water, but its hard cuz i have to walk by the food every time i leave my desk. I feel left out, and sad, but im not gonna risk hurting my sleeve for one second of satisfaction of taking a bite. We just have to be strong, and before you know it we'll be able to eat like normal people again, just a lot less!

22 Days And Dealing With The Ups And Downs
My surgery is in 3 days and i couldnt be more excited! I've had many surgeries before so the surgery itself doesnt scare me a bit. Its the pain afterward that is a little un-nerving. Oh well, im sure we're all going to do great! Good luck on your surgery!

Has Anyone Cheated On The Week Or 2 Week Pre Gastric Sleeve Op Diet?
Aww, thanks! I've been waiting since October 19th for this surgery to be here, and i cant believe its in 3 days! Dont worry, the 15th will be here before you know it! So I think we weigh less in the morning, cuz when i weighed myself this morning i've now lost 5.8 lbs, almost all the weight i gained. Unfortunately i went on an eating binge after i got my surgery date, and had way too many food funerals. I think it made it harder for me on the pre-op diet too, but live and learn! I will definitely be posting my story (probably from the hospital), and updates on how i'm doing, you all have helped me through this waiting and i've made so many friends on here, i hope everyone else does the same too! I am so happy for us all to have a great start to a new year. Yippee!

Has Anyone Cheated On The Week Or 2 Week Pre Gastric Sleeve Op Diet?
I did, i was supposed to do a two week diet, with protein shakes, 2 bars, and only carrots, celery, lettuce and calorie free dressing. The first week i was just like you, i needed something of substance, so i put 2 tablespoons of grilled chicken breast in my salad with calorie free dressing. I've been good this second week though, but its been so hard. I did lose 4 lbs already, so im happy about that. Good luck, it will get easier!

The Final Countdown
Im right there with you Amber! Its so hard to divorce food, and say no to everything during this pre-op diet. My most difficult time is between lunch and dinner too, but i've arranged it so i have a protein shake on my way home from work, and im not starving by the time i get to my house (which i call the danger zone, since i have a 7 year old and have to keep snacks around for her lunches, lol). I also worry about the skin, and trading one ugly body for another. I dont have the money for plastic surgery, and am just gonna have to live with the results i guess. Anyway, good luck to you, only 1 week away thats great! It gets here fast, mine's in 4 days, and im so excited!
