G*d Da*n Chocolate!

Recommended Posts

Dang, my wife went out and bought 2 giant bags of bite sized chocolate bars for the trick or treaters and we only had 9 of them show up at the door. Despite handing each of them a fistful of the things we ended up with over a bag left.

Dang nab it! I've eaten over a dozen of these things since last night! AARRRGGGHHH! I took them to work and placed them out of my sight in the break room.

Must .... resist ... urge ... to .... go ... to .... break ... room.

LOL, imagine how much of this crap we would have eaten without our sleeves screaming at us. At least we can still enjoy the guilty pleasures to some extent. : )

Hershey's does make Sugar Free Chocolate bars-the little guys-and they also have ones with Caramel in them!! Just saying....(and they're really stinking good too!)

Psh... my dad (yes, I still live at home) bought 2 large bags of Snickers "for the trick-or-treaters"... we live on three acres and have never had a trick-or-treater in the 30+ years since my parents have lived there.

Oh, temptation.

as our blood sugars and weight drop, its ok to have a piece here and there. no one ever said never ever again? well some people do, but i think thats foolish, our sleeves are here to help us control our portion sizes, not restrict us from everything that there is. personally, if i wanted total food group restriction, i would have had a gastric bypass.

I've been doing a small amount of grazing on my daughter's Halloween candy since Monday. Luckily, my husband has eaten all the chocolate stuff already, and I don't like much of what's left. :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
