Overdue encouragement post

Recommended Posts

I have not posted lately. Between work, a funeral, and a slowly moving scale I have just not taken the time to write. However, enough of that crap! So I wanted to say to each of you fine friends out there, chin up! We are making our dreams happen! Sure the scale can be an a$$ and people not get it, however the flip side is we have made a drastic choice that really works!!!!!! to take control of our life and personal issues with food and do something to wrench control from our stomach and finally become on the outside who we are on the inside!

What an amazing journey. Each of us are experiancing the things we dreamed of for years, and finding it even more marvelous than we imagined! So drink the dang fluids, eat some more Protein, stay focused!

This is just the prelude to a glorious future that may have it's own issues but where we will have the strength and energy to chase our dreams and win!!! Love you all

Pasquini!

You had a good day today didn't you, my friend? So did I. Always remember, we all did this for a better life for ourselves and our loved ones and with each inch and each pound we are that much closer!!!

Amen, We do sometimes lose focus. You are right, we are very blessed. My life has changed so much in the last 4 months, it is a great journey. I think we get caught up sometimes in some negatives such as the scale not moving as fast as we would like. We have to remember, this is not a sprint, it is a lifelong marathon.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
