First Exercise Challenge Met

Recommended Posts

So, six weeks ago, I had a tough time walking from the parking lot to my apartment. I've been steadily walking the "little D" from my hallway to the close end of my building, then adding in laps to the "big D" from the farther hallway to the end of my building. I've been okay at that, but my goal was to be able to walk to the mailbox without dying. LOL

This morning, I not only walked to the mailbox, I walked all the way around the lake in the middle of our complex! I know it's probably an eighth or a quarter of a mile, so not a big distance, but I'm so proud of myself that I had to post it!!

So far, I've lost 40 pounds and I've dropped one pants size. My butt is getting smaller (according to how my pants are fitting), so I'm working my sleeve. :)

That post made me smile. Good for you! I remember when that was me. I could not walk either without getting out of breath and feeling like my legs were going to give out on me!

I want you to know that you WILL get to the point where you can and will want to walk forever! I now walk and run 5 miles at a time and never even think about it. This sleeve is such a blessing!!

Hugs,

Kelly :)

EXCELLENT!!!!! You're really working it! Regardless of the distance, etc. the main factor is you did it. Keep it up and you WILL do far more in much shorter time than you think.

*hugs*

I really love to hear about folks who work hard at working out. :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
