Anyone ever lift too much early out and have problems?

Recommended Posts

Yesterday, my 65# son had fallen (Mellodramaticly) and wanted me to help him up and of course decides that Mom is a jungle gym...So I get him off me and tell him Yet again that I'm not allowed to pick him up. So I had some random pains yesterday and today my stomach is achy and not interested in food and I have a jabbing headache.. I'm not sure if the way I feel to day is related to my moment of recklessness yesterday. Anyone have any experience lifting too much early out?

I have done more things that require lifting over the past two days than I have since surgery. I have a 2 yr old so I know how it is that sometimes you don't have much of a choice. Yesterday I had a lot of energy and the baby got a little rambunctious with the play and got on my back like a horsey. Today I went grocery shopping and brought in more groceries than I have in a long time. I have bronchitis so I am coughing a LOT. I am really sore in my midsection and much more tired than I have been in a couple of weeks.

I don't think I have damaged anything. I am able to eat and drink but I have a lot of "bathroom issues" today. I wonder if the movement/exercise got the digestive system going? I figure the soreness is just some exercise

HDub,

Are you on antibiotics for the bronchitis? I cannot take any kind of pennicilin or derivative. All antibiotics put me in the bathroom. I always have to take a probiotic for about three weeks afterwards.

I hope you are feeling better soon!!!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
