Hormel turkey with beans chili- Is this a bad idea?

Recommended Posts

As you can see in my user name, I live in Korea and choices are limited.

I've always loved chili (especially Wendy's) before I moved to Korea.

Anyways, I found some hormel in Korea. Now it has become my regular Breakfast and dinner.

Hormel turkey with beans- Is it a bad idea?

I know that they contain alot of sodium but I am always craving spicy or salty rather than anything else.

I would appreciate honest feedback. Thanks.

OMG! I love Korean Food!! I am still on full liquids, but would LOVE just a bite of Chop Chae right about now.

I think Chili is a wonderful food source. It has the Protein and the Fiber all in one.

Any chance you could find the ingredients to make your own?

You would then know exactly what is in it.

I wish you well and good luck!

I eat Hormel Chili too. Not a lot because I just started on soft foods but it sat well with me and I thought it was a good source of Protein. I have seen others post that they eat a lot of chili. Hormel is the lowest fat/calorie chili too so that is good.

I eat wendy's chili all of the time. i think as long as you drink your Water to flush all that salt out you will be fine!

Kelly ;)

That is exactly what I've been trying to do. I hate plain Water and they don't sell crystal light so I water down my daily 2 packets of iced coffee to the max. Thanks Kelly :D

Thanks for your reply. I am more than 2 months out and I have never been able to eat slowly. I usually eat within 10 minutes. This was the only thing that sat well and satisfied me eventhough I eat so fast. Maybe I shoudn't add the dash of tabasco but it makes it so much better. Spicy doesn't bother me eventhough my doctor urges me not eat so spicy. I must have a Korean sleeve.:D

OMG! Chop Chae is my absolute favorite, too!

Unfornately I am not allowed until 3 months out which is about 20 days away.

One piece of advice, when you do eat chop chae on the solid stage, be careful. The noodles used in chop chae really bloat up and expand in your stomach.

The ingredients needed to cook chili are not really available in Korea, bummer.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi, thanks for your reply. I am only 70 days out so I eat about 1/5 of a can at once. By the way, I think I've seen some of your posts or replies, I really enjoyed them. Always short, sweet and to the point!:D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
