Good question Pasquini...why ARE you holding on to it? This is not like before when you lost weight and then needed those bigger sizes because you gained it back again. Our sleeves are like FAT insurance. They won't let us eat like we used to and all that weight you have lost is truly lost this time. Lost ...as in...not going to EVER find it again! Getting rid of all those too big clothes made room in my closet for the skinny clothes I had been saving! I did save 1 pair of size 20 pants...just as a reminder of how far I have come. But being a seasoned thrift shopper, I know it can be hard to find those bigger sizes in decent shape. All the best to whomever gives my too big clothes a new home. Moving on and not looking back!rolleyes.gif

YAY! I've taken a few myself. In fact, my husband was just standing in our closet looking at my side. He made a comment about how I've taken 3 bags full and my closet is STILL busting at the seams. My excuse is that I have to be "creative" with the combinations since I don't particularly like a lot of it...but refuse to go buy new stuff in this "temporary" size. :P

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
