My 1st group meeting was 2/5 - I never attended the other ones cuz they were mostly bypass and I feel that we have diff issue - ya we do share one issue in common food - - plus they are in Palm Springs and I live in Indio. The Lapband only just started in Feb - so that's why I went - it was a small group 6 of us and one pre-bander - Truely - I love this site the most - I have a connection with my Lucky #7 gang & my 50 yr old gang - this place is open 24/7 and I don't have to drive anywhere - I will attend a few more and see how it goes.

Hi,

I live in La Quinta, east of Palm Springs. I haven't found a support group in this area. Where exactly are you?

B

Are you a Dr. Bobby patient??? Captain lives in Beaumont or Banning can't remember which..

Research Doctor Ortiz, in Tijuana. He actually has taught the lapband to a few surgeons here in the U.S.

He just banded a gf of mine - she loved him...

Anyone know of a support group for lap band only that meets near Temecula or Murrieta? Also, anyone know of any good fill doctors in this area? I am being banded in Colorado but need to find a good doctor to do my fills.

Thanks!:)

Hi guys - I'm one week post of as of tomorrow - had surgery last week in TJ with dr. Ponce de leon at Obesity Goodbye.

I'm feeling great! Digesting well, only took 2 days off work, so far so good. :-)

The only negatives I'm experiencing are food cravings and a tremendous amount of gas/grumbling noises - which I can deal with.

Good luck to everyone!

-Misty

Indio, I just got done registering online. I thank you for getting me that info, it was really easy and only took about 2 mins.

Not all my weight loss was after my surgery, I lost just over 60 LBS before hand. I wanted to be as healthy as possible so I could have a fast recovery.

I got to my goal a few months ago and I kind of fell off track and put a few lbs back on. I don’t know how much because I only weight my self at my doc’s office. I have a appointment for a fill on the 18th so I will find out how much then. Anyway I am looking forward to attending that support group on the 4/1 and hopefully I will see ya there.

129 lbs gone is a big deal be proud.. - I am afraid of how to maintain - losing it so far hasn't been hard - but maintaining ????? I have lost it before but never maintained... I only weigh in once a week - the scales flucuate too much - so I only do it on Thursday Mornings (that was the day I got home from the hospital)..

Yep looking forward to meeting you...

Yes we do have a lot in common. Where did you have your surgery done? I went to Dr Francis at Orange Coast Memorial in Fountian Valley. How are you doing so far with everything?

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
