Eating in new situations post op

Recommended Posts

Yesterday the husband and I went on day trip to a lake community and I really did not sweat the eating thing. For lunch I had Turkey Chef salad, no problems finding something healthy on any menu. Well then he decides he wants to go on a lake cruise, of course then only left a time we could make was a ice cream social trip. I contemplated the whole thing for a bit and decided what the hell instead of saying no entirely I took the ice cream sunday. I am proud to say I had about 8 bites and just pushed it away! I was full enough from my good lunch and had no desire what so ever in devouring ice cream like I would have in the past.

Then hours later the husband wanted to go to dinner and I do not if it was the ice cream or the hot day or what but I was not hungry at all. I played along and went with him for the atmosphere ( JImmy Buffett place) and he ordered the WOST possible choices, nachos and friend mushrooms. So i ended up eating 2 small mushrooms and 3 chips that had some beef on them.

I just decided to not beat myself off over the bad stuff, every one needs to be bad once in a while,,, it has been over a year for me since I ate anything "bad" and the scale this morning was just fine!

Now will I continue to such "bad" things,,, not at all, it will have to be a circumstance like yesterday,,, my point is you can still be bad here and there and not undo your diet!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
