Keep the faith girl. Right before I went under for surgery I was thinking to myself you know this is for me and I know that I am doing this for me and no one else. I woke up and I looked in the mirror and said to myself I have arrived and nothing is going to stop me. I know that you are scared and nervous. Just make sure you are doing this for you and only you...If you are then I'll save ya a seat on the train. This is the first time that I have ever been called a loser and told the person who said it to me Thanks!!!! Good luck !!!!

Welcome My March Sleeve Sister. Its going to be a great ride. When do you start your pre-op diet? How long do you have to stay on the diet? Who is your doctor?

You should be!! It's such a fabulous thing, you will soon see... hang in there and get prepared with everything you'll need post op.

Preop diet starts March 2 and lasts two weeks. 5 Protein shakes a day! I'm so excited to start I want to start now but know I'll get sick of them too quick to do two weeks before and two weeks after!

My surgeon is Dr. Mann and Naval Medical Center Portsmouth.

I just got scheduled for March 16th as well. :D Can't wait!!! It will be here before we know it!

I am to waiting for my date. The surgery coordinator will call me this week with it.. talk about sitting by the phone and waiting!!! Well looks like we will be sitting on the losers bench together as I am going to be in march as well.. I'm so excited and I know ill be nervous as it approaches but this just feels right. Cheers to you and your sleeve

I am another March 16th!! Hooray for us!!! Good luck everyone, let's continue this amazing journey as healthier and happier people!!!laugh.gif

Hi there, I am March 16th also... Its going to be a GREAT day!! I am so glad to have some people who are going through the same thing, and even on the same day. My pre-op diet starts Monday and it is low (no) carb for 2 weeks. I can only consume 20 grams of carbs a day and that is NOT a lot at all. I am told that my carbs are supposed to come from veggies that have trace amounts of carbs.

My doctor is not a fan of shakes for Protein (although he agrees that they are important for post op liquid phases). Anyway, I am hoping that I can stick to this low carb thing!

I am so happy I have Sleeve sisters!
