My doc only makes us do the pre-surgery diet for 5 days prior, so I don't have to start that until Jan 21st. I'm not looking forward to it!! I can have 3-4 carnation instant breakfasts (no sugar added), and very bland soft foods - no sugar added yogurt, plain cream of wheat or rice, unsweetened applesauce, pureed low fat Soup (max. 5-6/day) - and all the sugar free Jello & popsicles I want (oh, joy! **sarcastically said**). Is that what yours looks like? How long do you have to do yours for? I'd love to keep in touch. Not sure how to make 'friends' on the site, yet. I think there is a way, I just am too new to figure it out. If you figure it out, let me know, OK? Thanks!!

Hi Ocean Eyes - great name, too! I have two boys, and I always say my oldest has eyes the color of the sky, and my youngest has eyes the color of the ocean. Wish I had thought of clever names like you and Scared Skinny did! :) Exciting you're the same date as us, too. Have you started the pre-op diet? start mine the 21st. How did you get the chart with your weight info onto your posts? Would love to keep in touch with you as well, since we're the same date, too! Good luck!! k8

Thanks k8! It's an old nickname from college and yes...my eyes are blue. ;) I started my pre-op diet last wednesday (2 weeks prior). It's about the same: 3 protien shakes, 1/2 oatmeal, 1 sugar-free Jello and 1 pudding,1 fat free yogurt, and 1 unsweetened applesauce. No caffeine and no soda.

As for the chart, it's pretty simple to put in the tracker. Just go to TickerFactory.com to customize your weight loss tracker. It will give you the code to use for web forums and blogs. Copy this information and then go to Profile>Change Signature and add the code in the Edit Signature block.

Let me know how it goes. Keep in touch. It would be great to have someone to talk to as we go through day by day.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
