What nsv are you looking forward to?

Besides the normal ones, shopping in the regular clothes, no more meds for health issues...

1) buying a bra at Victoria Secrets and pushing the girls back up where they belong.

2) coughing and not having to cross my legs. The mommy cough as my friends call it.

3) not having to worry about camel toe when I wear pants.

What are you looking forward to?

Here are my 3 things:

1) being able to fit into a teeny airline seat (I have to travel for over 12 hours to get back to the States to visit family) -- I would like not to have to worry if I'm spilling over onto someone else.

2) I would like to buy clothes here in Paraguay where all the women are super thin. So far, I'm still ordering from the States.

3) I am looking forward to going to the beach/pool in a swimming suit and not feel like a beached whale.

There are so many things that I am looking forward to!

1 -Weighing less than my husband!

2 -Feeling good about myself in a pair of shorts

3 - Buying jeans in a size 10.... I am aiming for that one to happen by summer!

My journey begins January 6th!

Definitely thighs not rubbing together anymore. I'm getting pretty close to it, but I think it'll take getting to goal weight to completely get rid of the problem. I can't tell you how many hours I've wasted trying to find shorts long enough to be able to walk in without my thighs chafing raw after 10 blocks.

Going to a patio party and fitting in those itsy bitsy plastic seats without my thighs bluging out the sides and the worry that is this chair going to break.

Shopping at a non-plus size store and getting great deals

traveling around the world and feeling comfortable in the airplane seats back in coach

1. No more New Years Resolutions. I always feel like a failure when I have come to yet another year and have not lost weight.

2. Not dreading pictures anymore because I have to face how big I really am.

3. New clothes!

1. To be able to go to weddings and funerals without trying to hide from people I haven't seen in years.

2. When I hear that someone has died, to react appropriately to the situation, and not with, "Oh shit! How do I get out of going to this?"

3. To willingly have my picture taken, and to stop saying to people who've taken my picture, "Don't you dare post that on the internet!"

4. To shop for clothes in real stores, and not just online.

5. To wear clothes that aren't fat lady clothes.

6. To feel good!

7. Cute shoes.

8. It's too late for me to ever expect to wear swimsuits in public, but maybe in my own backyard swimming pool?

9. To be able to sit in a booth, comfortably.

10. To be able to be seated in any chair in the room.

Something i haven't haven't even thought about but I've achieved even though I haven't reached goal yet: Being able to wrap myself completely in a NORMAL towel, not one of those huge sheet towels, loving it!! :D

I remember when a normal towel fit. Now it covers 2/3 of me. I would also love to be able to be able to wear shorts without having to pull them down from creeping. It's amazing how much we avoid that we do not even think about anymore. It has become the norm. I sometimes wonder how this happened, but I guess it just does over time. Your jeans start getting tight so you buy a bigger size and blame it on the dryer shrinking your clothes. Then one day you look at a picture and barely recognize yourself. Hopefully the opposite will happen soon enough for us. I have never felt so overweight as I did at a team building exercise at work on Wednesday. We had a scavenger hunt at the zoo. By the end of the day, I thought I was going to keel over. Next year I will be up for the challenge. I can't wait.

Shopping ANYWHERE for clothes... Plus size clothes are always so expensive!

Wearing a bracelet/watch comfortably!

Weighing less than my husband!

Not ALWAYS worrying that I'm the biggest person in the room.

I just thought of another one.

When someone parks their car a little too close, I don't want to have to suffer the embarrassment of not being able to squeeze into my car. :(

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I had about 6 months between deciding to do surgery and getting scheduled. I came across the book The Pound of Cure by Dr. Matthew Weiner, a bariatric surgeon in Arizona, and started to implement some of the changes he recommended (and lost 13 lbs in the process without ever feeling deprived). The book is very simple, and the focus is on whole, plant based foods, but within reason. It's not an all or nothing approach, or going vegan or something, but focuses on improvement and aiming for getting it right 80-90% of the time. His suggestions are divided into 12 sections that you can tackle over time, perhaps one per month for a year if a person is just trying to improve nutrition and build good habits. They range from things like cutting out artificial sweetener or eating more beans to eating a pound of vegetables per day. I found it really effective pre-surgery and it's an eating style I will be working to get back to as I am further out from surgery and have more capacity. Small changes you can sustain will do the most for building good habits for life.

That sounds awesome. I'll have to check that out thanks!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
