Well, after 6 months of Spartan dieting, (6 weeks of which is post op) I ate about 2/3 of a slice. Didn't eat all the crust but pretty much scraped it clean! :scared0: OMG!!! It was soooo good. But the best part was that I was full and satisfied with less than a full slice. In the past, I could easily munch down 1/2 pizza by myself. Sometimes, with wings and a salad.

And the scale even moved this morning...down another lb. It doesn't get any better than this!!! :bored0:

I love this post. I might have to print it and hang it up. Good for you georgie! I especially like the line "sometimes with wings and salad" sounds familiar... this gives me good hope too!

Well, the fact that pizza has Tomato sauce on it also gave me a little worry. Prior to surgery I was having a little stomach trouble with red sauce. But it was fine! Still taking my nexium though. Not sure that it would have gone down so well without it. I also chewed it up really well...not my usual pizza inhalation of the past.

I love my sleeve!

GG

I haven't had pizza yet, but your post made me want to make one some time this week. I'm actually gonna post a recipe for my favorite home-made thin crust pizza in the recipe forum, now that I'm thinking about it, so check it out.

I just made my own last week for my husband.. since we had a fresh basil plant. Mmm I used the fresh mozz. too and a little sauce. Really good and thin/crisp. I used a pillsbury pizza dough from the dairy aisle and it was okay. But I'll bet a homemade one is even better. Gonna check it out, thanks!

I agree.. not a choice for me to be trying TOO early. Hey pizza really can be a healthy food if we made it ourselves with the thin crust and healthy olive oil, veggies, fresh part skim cheese, right? Like they do in Italy?

I wonder how many of the Angelo's "specials" my husband and I have ordered and demolished in our lifetimes. You know the type I'm talking about, right? Man... the thought of it now really makes me shake my head.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
