who did you tell?

I told my husband and parents thats it for family. I told my two supervisors because both of them have struggled with their weight and I told two co workers. But I wish I hadn't told them. I will decide as i go along who to tell becuase people still have the wrong perceptions about WLS. I will not tell any more family members though. Because my family would never understand.

I told my family, in-laws and close friends. I feel guilty when not so close friends go on and on about how wonderful I look and I'm telling them that I'm doing a high Protein diet (which technically I am) and a Migraine food elimination diet (which I currently am) - and three of them desperately want to lose weight....I do NOT want to sound at all like all you have to do is cut out chips, bread...blah, blah, blah.....I mean seriously!!!! I KNOW, I've been there time and time again over a life time. I feel like a fraud!!! I don't know why I don't just tell everyone!!!

Ive kind of hinted to some at work, and told others... told my mom and dad who supported the idea...they told my brother...who seems to aprove and is overweight...may even like the idea of doing it himself sometime. I told two out of three friends...funny, the last friend is a Dr. who is over weight... I kind of think she might argue a bit with me... but maybe not too... She might even go for it herself when she sees how it goes for me. Im sure I will tell her soon. I am in the public eye a little bit, so taking my time to see how it goes....I tend to think I will tell whoever asks, but we shall see. I have not had surgery yet...three months.

I told everyone. I even posted it on my Facebook. This was about me. I never wanted anyone to think how did you do it ask me for advise and me not tell them exactly how I did it. I tell anyone who wants to hear I did my 1200 calories, then 800, then had surgery. I told them I had to lose the first 30lbs before they would even do surgery. I don't mind if people talk or not this was never about anyone else. This has always been about me getting my health and body back to a place where I feel healthy and secure.

I told my parents, brother, a few relatives, and maybe 3 co-workers. People are so negative when it comes to weight loss surgery. They either comment on the complications, people re-gaining weight, or ask why don't I just try to diet and exercise. Most of these people have never had weight problems. People are more sympathetic to alcoholics, smokers, and drug abusers, all of which have some underlying psychologic issue.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
