There is ABSOLUTELY hope!!!! After my last hurrah meal lol, which btw was a shrimp, crab and lobster feast and yummmmmmmy, my friend wanted to go to the mall to Dillards and look for some new pants. As I was walking through all those beautiful "normal" sized clothes, I couldn't help but feel excited that by next summer I could actually be shopping in those very same sections!!! Keep your eye on the prize baby, our new lives will be soooo worth the changes that we make.

I am day one one the preop diet - 10 days of liquids with the last 3 days being Clear Liquids only. I am so excited and ready for this change. I am pretty sure that by the time I leave I will be plenty sick of it haha. I wish you well in your journey and the new life to follow!!!

My last meal before the pre-op diet was two pecks of steamed oysters and two or three beers.

My pre-op diet wasn't as strict as some. I had to basically go on an Atkins diet, low carb. For my last meal, before flying out the following day for surgery, was a ribeye with green Beans.< /p>

Redneck

Hey thanks alot, lol now I am really craving a red beer! I am a Kansas girl you know, so you can keep the fancy fru-fru drinks, there is nothing that beats a cold beer on a hot summer day!!

I understand how you feel. I am tired of being the big one.. It would be really freaking nice to be described as the tall one. Instead of the BIG girl. lol

Im in my diet now and it really isn't so bad. Mine is the Adkins also. So my last meal had mainly carbs. I can't wait to eat to live instead of live to eat! Don't get me wrong I enjoyed my last meal BUT I am ready!! The funny thing is in my head I thought the 12th was Tuesday but it is Monday! It has just been a while since I booked everything so it was a good suprise! Good luck everyone!

Monday July 12, 2010 my life will change forever!!

Where did you go for your last pre-surgery meal? Did you find it helpful to have a last horrah? What is keeping you on track now?

Lol. What didn't I eat. i knew a month ahead before my surgery and had every favortie food I could put in my mouth. But about the time I was getting ready to start the pre op cleansing I hit a food wall. Nothing tasted good to me anymore. No amount or type of food. It was then that I realized I was soooo ready for the surgery.

Do I miss certain foods. Being 11 days in a little but not being hungry all the time makes you reavaluate what goes into your mouth alot.

Though I do admit watching tv does make the mouth drool occassionally....gotta stop watching the food network lol Oh well old habits die hard.

Good luck all!

Kevin

My doctor does not require a pre-op diet, but I've been cutting back on the amount of food anyway. I realize that after healing from surgery I will be able to eat regular food again, just in very, very small portions, so I am not worrying about a last hurrah. However, if I did have a last hurrah, it would be Sushi.

I had my last meal Friday night at the best restaurant in town, and except for the bread and wine, I stuck to my diet. I had swordfish and asparagus with a mozzarella salad. You can enjoy a last meal without totally "blowing it". Surgery is Wednesday.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
