So, this morning I've been having short, sharp pains on what feel like the surface of my stomach a little while after eating. The pains are (to my) right of center. They are not high enough or intense enough to be gall bladder issues (and besides, it's likely too soon).

I've got a little rapid heartbeat and flushing, but honestly that's likely due to anxiety more than anything else. The pain is... minor, just worrying. It feels about like a bee sting or less.

I guess I'm worried about a pinhole leak. However, the fact that it's right of center would militate against it being a leak, right? Or is the leak pain one of those "phantom" pains that you don't feel where it happens?

Also, the pain is very minor and localized. Finally, it's not radiating. My stomach is gurgling a lot this morning, and it feels like my incisions are a little sore (for whatever reason).

I'm just being silly, right?

Okay never mind, it's just incision pain. I took a walk and that calmed my mind.

Exercise is the best thing ever for anxiety. It's even better than Xanax!

Edit: part of the reason that I got worried was (a) the pain happened a few minutes after eating, and ( my incisions felt fine (just a little itchy) yesterday, so I thought it was weird that they'd hurt today. But, they do -- oh well!

Try not to worry too much. I know easier said than done. But, you've read everyone's experience and all of this is pretty normal. We all have in the back of our minds the worry of a leak. But it does no good to worry about it.......and the percentages are so low.

For the first two weeks I was convinced every little thing was a leak. It wasn't untill a couple of days ago that I let go of the fear.... its pretty normal to freak out from time to time... no one wants a leak.

My wife had a 103.3 temp and was cold, her lips were the same color as her skin. She's the "low percentage"...but that's what I noticed as we drove to the ER @ 4AM.

Yeah... I'm really sorry to hear about all the trouble she's been having, by the way.

Me, I'm just a hypochondriac.

We have been in and out of the hospital for over a month since the surgery, the repair surgery had her in ICU for 4 days after. now she has a stent covering the leak and hopefully next week they will take it out and see if the leak is healed.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
