Pain on lower left side

Recommended Posts

I am six weeks out and have had smooth sailing. No real issues what-so-ever. However, the last three days, I have a new "pain." I feel just fine when I wake up, but by the afternoon, I have a cramp on my lower, left side. It almost feels like the catch you get when you run....,

It actually feels kinda like I have been punched, not really like cramps you might get with a stomach virus or when you are on your period. It is actually sore to press or touch in the area - more like a "catch." Like it hurts to go from sitting to standing. I plan to call the doctor on Monday, but was wondering if any of you have had this? I have not had any real diet changes, but I have been sitting more these past few days. I am going to go back to mushier mushies, but was wondering if any of you had had this sort of issue?

Thanks for sharing.

I had soreness on my left side close to the large incision. I would especially be sore in the evening after working all day. What I ate didn't seem to affect it. It was more a muscle thing than a stomach thing. I think twobluecats had it, too. It does seem weird that it is starting 6 weeks out. Mine finally went away a few weeks ago after I had that huge "POP" one night. Hope yours feels better soon. It was great seeing you Tuesday!

Anna,

It was so good to see you too. Seems like it was soo long ago you were checking-in on me following surgery. I thought is was really weird too. It has not been bad yesterday or today, so maybe I just overdid it driving up and all. Friday, I was all set to call Brittany, now I feel fine, so maybe it was just a muscular thing because of sitting in the car so long. I was stiff as a tree because I am not comfortable driving in the snow. Ya'lls weather has just been crazy!

Hey Barb,

I have had some weird left incision pain too. I think it is scar tissue tugging and pulling. It was pretty common for me around 8-10 weeks post-op. I could call Brittany tomorrow though, just to be sure. FYI - I am having some weird pain under my incisions from my knee surgery. Kind of similar - so again, I think mine was scar tissue forming and then pulling.

Great to finally meet you (in REAL life) last week :001_smile:

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
