Here in Mexicali and sleeved

Recommended Posts

I am here and the nerves have calmed down. My nausea has slowed down. I able to get enough bandwith to write a little blurb. I am in pain and it is uncomfortable with every move. My husband has been my savior and here for my every move. Well the nausea is starting to return. So I will post more later.

Ask for something for the nausea or pain as soon as you feel the slightest twinge, you will get it right away. Rest, walk, sip, burp and you'll get through these hardest days. Then you will see the pounds just melt away! Congratulations on joining the loser's bench! We are cheering for you!

Amy, I'm so glad you're on the other side. From what I've read, it will keep getting better and better now. Congratulations!

Good Luck! I had a band to sleeve revision and was dry-heaving for 3 days, had to sleep upright. The top of my stomach had completely swollen shut where my band was removed. It was rough, but I wouldn't trade it for ANYTHING! You'll get through this in no time!! & while your in their care, ask for whatever you can get! lol

Glad you were able to update. I hope you start feeling better soon. Sip, walk, and ask for meds for the nausea.

Take care of yourself, safe in your travels back home.

Congrats, AmyJ! You're on the sleeved side... I hope you're doing great, and feeling better every minute! I'll be in Mexicali on Sunday, which it looks like is the same day you're leaving. Sorry if we don't get to meet. Nonetheless, here's to your sleeve, and I hope this is a great experience for you!

Best! :thumbup1::smile::thumbup::smile::smile::smile:

      Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
