Vitamin Question

Recommended Posts

I know that after a RNY people have to take quite a few Vitamins for the rest of his or her life.

My question is this: I haven't seen much talk about what vitamins, if any, that Sleevers need other than a Calcium supplement. What do you take?

It's recommended to take a chewable multi-Vitamin with Iron. I tried Flintstones (icky), Centrum chewables (grodey), and then I tried some adult gummies, they didn't have Iron, and I was fatigued/exhausted so I switched back to the GNC Solotron with bioavailable Iron.

I take one GNC Solotron chewable with bioavailable iron twice daily. It's fabulous tasting, and is better texture wise than flintstone's or centrum's chewable.

Calcium is never a bad thing to take. With the sleeve you need to take calcium citrate not the carbonate. I use a liquid calcium citrate that I purchase from vitacost.com I prefer to take the liquid because it's dosage is 1oz instead of 3-6 capsules or chewables of Calcium citrate.

I also take a sublingual B12, not out of necessity, but I found it gave me more energy.

I just bought a 32oz bottle of "Liquimax Complete Nutrition Multi Vitamin Formula" from costco. It's a one month supply, tastes good and was about $12.00. I have been taking the "petite" Citrical calcium citrate pills 2x per day. They all have some Vitamin D3 but I also take a seperate D 5000 IU's a couple of times a week. After I finish this bottle I might like to try what Tiffy is taking...GNC Solotron chewable with bioavailable Iron twice daily.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
