Mommy, I am also a "lightweight" and can't keep the extensive regimen up that it takes for me to stay in a healthy weight, when are you planning to go for surgery? I am scheduled May 10th. My Mom is going with me, if you are there at te same time you are more than welcome to "hang" with us!

Wow! That would be great! I'm trying to confirm for May 11th.

Did you have any difficulties having Dr. Aceves approve you?

Send me a private email and I'll let you know what happens..

Deborah

I'm between 30 and 31, but if I wait it will surely increase. Heck, I could get to 32 or 33 by the surgery without much effort at all! I'm just a vistor at any particular weight--never stable. I was 40 pounds lighter in September after completing a medical fast. I'm so sick of this insanity in my life!

I hope to hear by tonight or tomorrow. Other than being a chronic yoyo dieter, I'm very healthy. I'd love to have a sleeve buddy in Mexicali. I hope I hear soon--I feel very comfortable with Dr. Aceves. When I find out, I'll send you a private email and let you know the particulars.

I am the same way, was about 40 pounds lighter in October and I too am tired of this up and down. I am healthy otherwise. I do have asthma but only have issues when I gain weight. Yes, please send me a message and let me know! I am gonna jump on chat right now, be fun to talk to you there! You are in CA, at least you won't have to go cross country!

I am approved and scheduled and I am sooo excited. Dr. Aceves on May 11th.

No pre op diet because I am just this side of obese.

It is my greatest hope that I will find weight stability and not have to have this burden any longer.

Dr. Aceves' patients also have a Yahoo group site which has a lot of information. I can't believe how universally loved he seems to be. I wish it were happening tomorrow.

Dr-Aceves-bandsters : Dr-Aceves-bandsters

^^^^^^ click on that.

It says bandsters but there are more sleeve people on this group. Dr. Aceves doesn't even like to do bands anymore. You have to sign in with a yahoo sign in name. If you have a yahoo email address, that is your sign in name.

sorry, I tried to cut and paste the link. It's a Yahoo-Health group entitled Dr. Aceves-Bandsters. Hope this helps.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
