I am on my 4th day out. I had my surgery at Royal Jubilee in Victoria, BC by Dr. Bradley Amson. I have to comment that the staff were AMAZING. All the nurses were so kind and genuinely concerned with any little complaint I made about pain. They were so accomodating with my family visiting as well. I was sleeved on Wed. Nov. 18th. Left the hospital Thursday morning. I am still taking T3's for the abdomin discomfort. I was seriously asking myself why?why?why? Wednesday night. The pain was unbearable. But now I think I am at the stage where I am feeling myself again (in a good way). I am happy that my wait is over and I had no complications. I am finally on the other side!

Unbearable pain? Don't the give you good pain medication in the hospital, especially on Wednesday night? I've had 2 C-sections, and a hysterectomy. Does it compair? :) I mean I had morphine in the hospital after my Hysterectomy. I would think they'd give you something similar.

I little confused.

Dr Aceves gives his patients Toradol injections, which gives better pain relief than narcotics like morphine, demerol, or codeine. It also does not cause Constipation stomach irritation, or groggyness, like the narcotics, and no chance of "becoming dependent on it like narcotics. I think it's the best thing since sliced bread! Before leaving the hospital, he gives patients a supply of sublingual Toradol to take home. I don't think that you can get the sublingual in the USA. It was great though, no need to put anything harsh in the new tummy. I did not need any pain medication after day 5 post op, so I still have some left. I never had such attentive pain management after surgery as I did under his care.

Wow, I must have a high pain threshold, as I didn't take any pain medication after being released from the hospital and even rode home 6 hours in the car and still didn't need anything.

I guess everyone's level of pain is different.

I hardly experienced any pain either. I just had a lot of nausea.

I had no pain at all due to Dr Aceves' great pain management routine. I do have to take pain meds for my knee pain being bone on bone without any cartilage but am taking a stool softener and vegtable laxative to avoid Constipation issues brought on by the hydrocodone for the knee. Sleeve surgery is the best especially if you pick a great surgeon like I did.:confused1: I have not had even one second of regret and am doing great.

Hey Angela,

I was sleeved on the 17th, here in Michigan. I'm doing pretty good. I have not had much pain at all except for chest pain(gas or heartburn) and am gradually adding full liquids in already... how are you doing getting in your fluids? Keep in touch... we are only a day apart in our surgery.. will be fun to watch each others progress. :) By the way I want to lose 120# .... 5'6 and 310#

One thing I've learned so far.. warm liquids seem to be the best or "room temperature"

Talk to you soon,

~Chandra

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
