chicken salad or tuna salad

soft cheese (laughing cow is my favorite)

I still can't tolerate rice. It causes major cramping for me. I didn't eat noodles/pasta of any sort until I was almost 3 months post-op. Anything that expands hurt way too much early out for me.

That is a pretty complete list. I lived on those little cans of already made chicken salad, as well as egg salad and tuna salad.

You can put anything you want into the blender. I would stay away from soft that are soft but are carbs. Carbs make us hungrier. That leaves white fish, tofu, there is a recipe in the food section for a ricotta bake that is good, poached or scrambled eggs, cottage cheese and any kind of veggie that is cooked well so it it is mushie.

thank you all for all the advice :) I'm excited!!! I am so sick of broth and sugar free popsicles and Jello LOL I spoke to the nurtrionist yesterday and she said she wanted me to wait until 6-8 weeks to start on the ground meat or boiled eggs but I actually started eating boiled eggs 1 week ago and it was fine....I just had to remember to chew 30 times LOL but went down with no problem :)

I thought carbs like bread, rice, potatoes and Pasta were taboo. I was even thinking about raw lean ground beef like fillet M. because it's soft and moist. Most meats that are " well done" are hard, and I'm a rare meat kinda girl, always have been. Would that be bad? I love sweet potatoes, because you don't need salt, just butter or (smart balance). I love all the salads you spoke of, so that won't be a problem. What do you mix with your cottage cheese to make it eatable? Is there any other flavorings that you use to mix with things to make them taste good?

Personally- that list is way too many carbs.

Even at 9 months out I don't eat Cereal, rice, Pasta, or bread, or crackers of any kind.... or drink any juice.< /span>

I stay away from the carbs, I might have a baked potatoe or mashed potatoes MAYBE once a week, more like once every 2 weeks.

I stick to fish and chicken. I did add pork to my diet at 6 months. I also do turkey. I eat that first- then a veggie or sometimes just the meat.< /span>

Personal choice as I said.... I know my weaknesses, and carbs are a BIG ONE... so I stay clear of them.

But why go back into bad habits having gone thru all this??

I would not recommend "raw" beef or even "rare" especially if you are on a PPI (nexium, prilosec) or acid reducer, which most sleevers are. The reason is these meds reduce stomach acid, which kills some bacteria that we might inadvertently eat. Since we lack the acid, we could be more susceptible to pathogens in food. Raw meats in my opinion are high risk for pathogens.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
