Dr. Aceves had us do 10 days clear liquid

10 days full liquid then 10 days of mushies.

I think it's pretty common to do an acid reducer for a period of time.

Clears for 14 days (I did 17). Then I did a combination of full liquids/mushies for another 2 weeks. I was over a month out due to the leak before I ever started full liquids.

If I am allowed to advance to mushies on September 17th I will have been on liquids 23 days plus 2 pre op.

Because my ability to spell was taken out with my stomach.

The good thing about that is you will probably lose more weight than if you advanced sooner!

Just trying to see the bright side!

Did your doctor require that many days or did you do them by choice?

my doc requires a full month on broth jello and optifast only nothing close to solid. then a month of mushies then soft solids. its not that bad now because i really dont feel for much. i get some nausea after anything goes down and i am scared to death of throwing up so i dont take chances.

Dang that's a long time on liquids -- I thought 10 on clear, 10 on fulls was bad enough -- 10 on mushies wasn't bad, except that I was actually on them a lot longer than that -- I am just now venturing into real "solid" food and I do it very cautiously. Hang in there, you'll make it through it and watching the scale move down is always a GREAT incentive!

Required. In fact a not so nice member of the "team" emailed me the day before my surgery to make sure I was still on clears and said they could tell if I was following my diet after surgery and staying on liquids. I was being scolded and had done nothing wrong.

I won't do anyting to risk my staple line (and by proxy my life) so I am just going to trod through however long he sees fit to keep me on liquids.

I did Clear liquids for a week and then for weeks 3-5 mushies; however, I'm starting to add some things.

One thing I really really like I got from costco...two small seadless watermelon...YUMMY!!!

I chill it and cut a quarter, cut it up in small pieces and munch on it over and hour...

Watermelon is going to be the first thing I eat when i get the OK. I have sooooo been craving it. I hope it wwill still be in season and I can get a firm sweet one that I can eat on for a week.

6 days clear fluids

2 weeks full Fluid diet (but dietition moved me fwd a week because of wellness)

1 week mushies

1 week diced/minced softs

i was totally cheering!!!

1 month seems harsh. pfffftttttt good luck!!!

Liquids is 2-3 weeks in my program. If you move to the next phase and have problems, you have to move back to liquids as well.

Hi Alisa. I just wanted to let you know you are not the only one. I was given the wrong diet plan at the hospital, they gave me the lap band one. Arrgggg!! I will be on clear liquids in Sept 17th.

How are you doing? I am not looking foward to 2 more weeks of broth and Jello but whatever.
