I have been struggling the past two weeks with listening to my body and succumbing to head hunger. Just came back from Disney and was sooo... Excited that I did not have any episodes of getting stuck or making really poor choices. I was not perfect and had a few bites of Desserts but overall came back and had not gained. The problem has been since I have been home. Craving salty, crunchy foods, not being able to sleep because I feel hungry ( which results in a snack) and eating too fast or too much ( and that is never good) resulting in vomiting. :(

Most of us are emotional eaters...which is why we are in the fix we're in. Is it possible that because you did well at Disney, you somehow feel entitled to cheat now that you are home? In other words, are you 'rewarding' yourself for doing well by eating not so well now?

I don't mean to try to analyze you but even you think this is head hunger. Sometimes head hunger is just boredom, but sometimes it's much more complicated than that. I think that for everyone who does well in a challenging situation and feels empowered, there are those who do well in a challenging situation and then promptly sabotage their success.

Again, this might not apply to you at all and you might think I'm talking out my a**. I'm just putting it out there and if I'm totally off base, apologies to you.

when i started my pre op, i had a book called band wagon, wrote by jeannie mcmillian..and it talked about something called head hunger...and after pm'ing her with questions (that continue to this day).....i learned that head hunger is true....to find out if you are truly hungry, drink something first and if that solves the issue, you werent really hungry, you only think you are....sitting in front of the tv, or bored or upset or whatever, can cause us to overeat/graze etc.....but you can control it......if you are hungry, for real, eat.......if you are just thinking you are, drink something (cold preferrably) and i bet that will solve this issue in 95% of the cases...

and eating til you vomit or pb'ing is doing you nor your bad any good....that is just asking for trouble....need to get your head in the game...i say that because i had to get mine in the game....i was well over 300+.....it was either solve the issue or get bigger...i made my decision....what was yours?

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
