When I was fat I would forget I was fat and try to go out and be active and I got reminded VERY quickly that I was fat. I was reminded that I'm 38 recently and for some reason I still think of myself more like 28. When I go out and do something it's SO much easier without the weight. I can get in shape with so much less effort and carry stuff and get around with ease. I still have days where I feel lethargic but most days if I want to get up and go I can without getting exhausted after 10 minutes.

A big YES on more energy. Getting up out off the couch was a really adventure. Pain in all my joints.

Now I can keep up with the grand children.

Tell me abt it. Getting off the couch was a catastrophe but I'm sooo much better now just being 24 lbs down. I can't wait to feel the 100 lbs loss !

Oh yea, just ask my husband (not just the sex part).....

The other day I bent down to get something out of the corner cupboard in the kitchen, had to swat way down & reach. When I stood up hubby said, "You couldn't of don't that a year ago." Oh so true.

I am more active in the garden, I take stairs all the time now, Yes I have way more energy!

I love my band!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
