Recommended Posts

I had my second fill last Monday and still nothing. I still am the same weight I was before surgery. I am just really dissapointed in the entire process. I hope it gets better soon.

Thanks to all for your support!!!

Hm, those VG bands can be tough when trying to find the right spot for restriction. *hugs* Hang in there Dee. You'll find it.

In the meantime, are you doing all you can to help things progress? Here are a few things that I know will help you if you will incorporate them into your life.

1. Do some form of exercise 30 minutes per day.

2. Drink a minimum of 64oz of Water per day.

3. Journal your food intake, every bite and every swallow.

4. Eat 1,200 calories or less per day.

5. Eat between 60-80 grams of hard Protein per day. (fish, chicken, beef, dairy)

6. Eat your Protein first.

7. Do not drink with meals, or for one hour after a meal.

8. Chew your food well. Make each meal last about 15 minutes.

I know it's not easy to do these things on your own. Heaven knows if it were we wouldn't need our band. But I believe it is a mistake to rely 100% on the band for weight loss. Success will require a change of thinking and lifestyle. Even with the band, success will not be as good without eating healthily, drinking plenty of Water and getting exercise. Our bodies were designed to require these things. And, as much as we wish it were different, it will depend on us to see that our bodies get these things so we can be healthy.

Let me know if there's anything I can do to help. *hugs*

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
