Difficult time keeping to the preset diet

Recommended Posts

Hi threre I'm 13 day post-op and I'm having trouble keeping to the preset diet. I'm able to drink and eat. I've tried egg salad sandwhich with wheat bread. Please help. Not sure i can go through with this.

Just because you can eat it doesn't mean you should. Your body needs to heal. Stick to the diet your doctor ordered. Good luck to you!

It's a little late to second guess the surgery. Why not instead, allow your body to heal, follow doctors orders, and decide to be a compliant patient. What you actually do is up to you, but I can tell you I would not trade my band for anything. It is best thing I ever did for myself.

Your stomach has been manipulated, moved, wounded, and sutured. Your doctor gave you a strict post op diet to give your stomach time to heal. By cheating, you are putting yourself at very real risk very serious complications.

Get back on your post op diet. You say you don't know if you can go through with this- I hate to tell you this but now you don't have a choice. You have to be smart, follow your doctor's orders, and give your stomach time heal. Your only choice in the matter right now is to either do the right thing and follow your post op diet or continue to cheat and risk hurting yourself badly.

Hang in there. We all survived it and so will you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
