Old habits die hard getting back on track

Recommended Posts

Went out of down this weekend found myself eating and drinking a few things I shouldn't have. I'm only 17 days out its hard without any fills. I ate less but not as health as I could have.Good thing I'm going Friday for my first fill also plan on getting in the gym this week ;)

I believe you need to let yourself enjoy a day like that now and then as long as you know that you get back on track the next day. It isn't a "life style" change if you don't allow yourself some fun. Then it is just a diet. You did say one thing that tells me your brain was still in it. You ate LESS. That is a good thing. I am sure if you are anything like me, before surgery you would have really indulged. Count this as a fun day and move on. :)

I think you should look at the positive you did make changes you ate less and you where aware of what you were doing you didn't do that before. This is a process mark down the changes you notice it give your brain a charge to keep going. You did great and should be proud as the fills come you will notice more and learn more..like ophra says "when you know better you do better" that goes for us all. Great Job

I'm in the same boat as you.. For a few weeks now I have seen my old habits slowly come back! I'm having a hard time trying to get back on track but if we keep pushing we will get there!!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
