Hard time eating almost anything

Recommended Posts

First let me say this has been a wonder decision for me and I have no regrets at all.

That said....

I am about 5 years post op and have gone from 352 pounds to my current weight of 216 pounds.

I have gone from a size 50 jeans to a size 32. Awesome!

In addition In 2012 I had a full Tummy Tuck with good results.

My issue is that I have a hard time eating anything and this is causing nutritional issues as well as impacting energy to exercise as I wish not to mention energy just for daily activity.

I have never been able to eat steak or anything like it post op, but for the past 2 years or so even Water can be an issue. Soups and Protein drinks have become a primary food and I have issues with it as well. I hug the toilet everyday because food will not go down. I have recently had to add B12 to get my levels back to mid range. I have no Fluid in my band and am really starting to think action may have to be taken at a more significant level. Looking for thoughts.....

good thing you band is empty however you stomach can come up throw the band and cause it hard to eat or drink I just went threw this. Often they have to remove it and I wonder with all the problems you have had in the past did you go in and see the condition of the band?I got a very band Migraine and was in bed for two days will the chills and then sweating went into surgon today and the band had flattened out so out came half the Fluid. I was so dehydrated I could hardly walk but after48 oz of liquids i feel better but I am hungry after 2 day no food. My point is call and get into the office and have a extra ASAP.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
