Crazy question???

I am 6 days post op and I know I'm on liquids but I haven't had a bowel movement. I am taking miralax daily but nothing. I am still swollen of course and I just feel heavy inside otherwise no issue. Is this normal

  • I went about 5-6 days after surgery without one too. I didn't stress about it knowing it would come. I never felt bloated or constipated, just didn't need to go.

  • It is normal. If you're still taking pain medication, oxycodone can slow your GI tract to a complete stop so you might want to stop the pain meds if you take them? tmf

And you are not putting any solids into your body so you cannot expect any to pass at this stage.

I figured as much but wanted to be on the safe Side and not make myself crazy over it. Thank you so much!!!

I actually had diarrhea the first week and now I have to take something daily to be able to go at all. I think I would much rather have the diarrhea. :)

Yep first week I didn't go at all. After that I went every couple of days and I'm on fiber gummies. Still not necessarily going every day but definitely much better and don't feel bloated or constipated.
