Postponed from April 8 to June 10

My surgeon's office just called to tell me that they were going to reschedule my surgery until June. I'm so bummed, I had psyched myself up. Something about one of the Dr.'s people not being there to assist. Man. Bummed out.

I know how you feel :( My surgeon had told me I'd be able to have surgery within four months of initial visit; but they didn't realize that my United Heathcare insurance had to go through Optum health for approval. Instead of being banded in June, I had to go through four more dietitian visits which delayed my surgery until December. I was totally bummed out.

Hang in there, your day will come. It will all be worth it once you wake up in recovery and realize you have a new life in front of you. Best of luck to you.

I had to have my surgery postponed from Feb to April. The time really flew by.

I know your pain. I had to wait until a blood clot in the brain (stroke at 39) was resolved. I was a week away from surgery and had to go another 4 months! Up side I list 50 lbs before surgery.

Thanks all. Everything happens for a reason. I'm just ready to get it done!

My band surgery had to be postponed for 18 months, all due to unforeseen medical issues for both myself and my husband.

The delay only increased my determination and motivation to be successful post op with the band.

Take a day at a time, and it will go by.

Best wishes...

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
