Hello, everyone. I thought I was having surgery in March, but a few things took way longer than expected, but I finally have my date and I am joining all of you now. My date is set for April 3rd! :D

Now I have to catch up on this thread so I can get to know you all. I look forward to going through this journey with all of you!

I'm scheduled April 3rd. I had to reschedule my Feb 25 date because of short staffing at work. (I work in the ER in a Hospital).

I'm preparing for my Pre-op diet. I'm really excited, but a little nervous too.

I am scheduled for April 3rd also! I was suppose to be in March, but things just didn't pan out that way. I'm just super excited to finally have a date. ^_^

Mechelle80' date=' where are you going? Houston True Results? Which Dr? What is plication? Is that elective? Good Luck[/quote']

My surgery will be at Baptist Hospital in Nashville. Dr Morton will be doing my surgery. Plication is something like the sleeve except they don't remove part of the stomach, they tuck it inside making it look like the sleeve. Its also reversible.

I'm super hopeful for an April surgery date! It all depends on the insurance. I'm excited and can't wait to get there. I read all these posts and it keeps me motivated and excited! Best of luck to all of you with surgery dates!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
