hi hel

i try not to (eat/use) any sodium (as much as i possibly can anyhow). since i eat fresh veggies (i can control the salt levels) and also on meats that we use....i know when i eat sodium (in my past with processed items, my feet/ankles would swell and def feel sluggish..but by reading labels, you can find variations with low sodium and sodium free items..but from i know, boxed items and fast food have alot..since i stopped eating those things from june, i noticed a huge difference.

before i forget, if you do open things in a can or even frozen, you can rinse them in a collander and remove any excess..... :)

I have stayed away from sodium for so long, with high blood pressure, that if I add any salt or eat things that are salty, I can tell right away. So yes, I do limit my sodium intake! Kare

Great advice from CG, i do the very same thing if i open anything from a can I rinse it to try and remove any excess salt, such as black olives which are one of my favs to eat.

I am just careful not to eat to many high sodium foods in a day, I do not eat Soup at all and if I do its once in a blue. I have 'controlled' high blood pressure so I have to be extra careful, and besides around the time of the month I retain Water, blah!!! so I really watch my sodium intake around this time especially....

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
