Must have for after surgery

My surgery is scheduled for the 28th. I'm sure this has probably been posted before, but I'd appreciate if you guys could help. What are the things you absolutely had to have (and why) post op? Thanks for ANY input :)

Thanks, I'm SO incredibly nervous. I'd actually talked myself out of surgery last night! But I really feel like its the best thing for me. Making my list now, so I can go shop on Wednesday. I'm actually having dental work on Thursday, so I have a lot to get accomplished in a little time. Lol

I was very nervous too but I'm so glad I went through with it, even at my early stage...Yes you do have a lot to get accomplished ..bless your heart! I would also recommend getting some Miralax...constipation is no fun. Good luck with both your dental work and the surgery...keep us updated! :)

Chapstick!!!!! Lips get so dry. Someone gave me this advise and i was very grateful.

apen and pad for any last minute advise, med dosage etc. use the stool softeners without fail especially while on pain meds!!!!!

congratulations!

Loose pants to wear a out of the hospital or surgery center, a nightgown, milk of magnesia refrigerated (goes down easier), liquid tylenol for when pain meds are too strong, tons of pillows to prop you up (I slept sitting up for 3 days!), and some homemade chicken broth prepared for when you get home.

Gas x, heating pad, and lots of good stuff to watch on tv. :)

You all are awesome!!!

Thick socks or booties the OR and recovery areas are freezing. Sugarfree drink mixes and broth. A side table or nightstand next to your rest area to house all your goodies; water, chapstick, meds etc getting up and down at first is a lot of work

The only pain I had after surgery was the left shoulder pain.. it lasted for 3 days... I used the Magic Bag for the microwave... AMAZING for the pain.
