Still emotional, but I made it through. Home now, having trouble meeting my liquid and Protein goals, but working on it. Hope everyone else is doing well that got banded this week.

I am two days out also. Feeling the gas pains a lot worse today. I'm still on only Clear liquids until tomorrow so I've only averaged 150 calories yesterday and with the track I'm on today I think I'll end up the same.

I am excited to move into full liquids tomorrow and start getting the Protein I need in

Hang in there' date=' the first couple days are rough but it gets a lot easier relatively quickly. You'll be amazed how "normal" you'll feel again within a matter of days.

Best wishes![/quote']

Ditto this! I'm on postoperative day 8 and I feel awesome! A week ago... Not so much! Hang in there!

try to keep the gas controlled and take lazitive to get that out of there it will help so much...heating pad is a life saver. This part is the worst and we are all there for you..sleep rest, sip as much as possible. I ate a ton of cream Soup made with Water and of course made my own broth so there was a lot of flavor...you can do this

thanks everyone! You're kind words mean a lot. It so hard some days, people stare at you for having a liquid diet, yesterday one of the nurses aides laughed at my meal they served cause it was pureed chicken with gravy. I'm just overly sensitive, which I never am sensitive, I guess cause it's such a big change. I hit my liquid intake today. so that's good. Thanks again, you guys are the best!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
